Clever Minds. Innovative Companies in CITY WEST

Regional Management CITY WEST is using this project to highlight Smart Minds in City West once a year, in each case with a new focal point. In 2011, "Smart Minds" was realized for the first time - in cooperation with Berlin Partner GmbH's business service.

Focus on innovative companies in CITY WEST

Innovation is an indicator of economic future promise. The proximity of research, development and production results in synergies that fertilize the innovative development process. That so many "Smart Minds" reside in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf is no surprise. It doesn't take long to get from one place to another in Berlin's City West - whether you are going to a research facility, the university, shopping or the theatre. The connections for public transport are also good.

"Smart Minds in CITY WEST" presents the people and companies, established ones and new ones. They have one thing in common: They often research, develop and produce behind the scenes.

The Smart Minds stories are representative for many other entrepreneurs in City West and offer insights into the qualities of the place. Long ago, it was clear that the trend was moving in the direction of an innovative and internationally focused economic location.

Information about production facilities, sales markets and positions on the global market will surprise you. Complicated technologies are clearly explained.

As an open plea for the City West location, the project is mainly aimed at companies that view their corporate prospects here or want to reorient themselves in Berlin. "Having business locate here is the focus for us," says Dirk Spender, Director of Regional Management CITY WEST. "We would like, however, to reach the professional public from all of Berlin. Students, scientists and teachers should be as excited about City West as investors and property owners."

The exhibition "Smart Minds. Innovative Companies in CITY WEST" has already becoming a way of networking in the neighbourhood during this start-up phase: The globally active special machine builder for the film and television industry has been planning to include 3D technology in its product range for some time now. At the photo session, he learns about the existence of a 3D converter which is located in the immediate vicinity, but which he had not known to date. They begin to consider cooperating.
